Our December research brief focused on the importance of LGBTQ-affirming spaces, such as schools, workplaces, and homes. It found that LGBTQ youth who reported having at least one LGBTQ-affirming space had 35% reduced odds of reporting a suicide attempt in the past year ā€” reaffirming how essential safe spaces are for LGBTQ youth mental health and wellness.

šŸŽ¬ New national mental health response action planĀ 

Weā€™re a proud partner of the Action Allianceā€™s National Response to COVID-19, which brings together the public and private sectors to coordinate action around mental health and suicide prevention. Last week, the National Response released its new action plan, identifying several policy priorities that are directly relevant to Trevorā€™s work, including the implementation of 988 and investing in specialized services for LGBTQ youth and communities of color.
