Dear John,

At 72, Annchi had several chronic health conditions—and no health insurance. She lived alone in a senior apartment after her children moved to another state.

To keep up with her rent and other daily expenses, Annchi worked part-time, earning about $500 a month. Her employer did not cover health insurance.

Annchi’s landlord connected her with the Korean Community Service Center of Greater Washington in Virginia, an NCOA Benefits Enrollment Center.
