Jack,
The images are heart-wrenching: Millions of Americans lining up for hours on end to access food to feed their families.
Our country is confronting the worst hunger crisis in recent history, with as many as one in six Americans (and one in four children) experiencing food insecurity this year. As a result, our nation’s food banks are over-stretched, under-resourced, and in need of backup.
While I continue to work in Congress to address this crisis and provide relief, I’m teaming up with my dear friend, Senator Cory Booker, for a special event in support of food banks in our home states.
We’re hosting a Zoom happy hour TONIGHT at 7:30 p.m. ET. To join the conversation, all we ask is that you make a donation here to support the Food Bank for New York City and the Community FoodBank of New Jersey.
I know many of us are feeling “Zoom-ed out” by now, but I promise, this one will be special.
Not only will you be supporting a vital cause, but it’ll be a great chance to unwind with Cory and me. We’ll take your questions on everything from our work in Washington to vegan cooking to our favorite Marvel movies.
Don’t forget to RSVP by donating to this important cause: 100% of your contribution will go to the Food Bank for New York City and the Community FoodBank of New Jersey.
I hope to see you tonight!
-Kirsten
