Polar bear

Hi John,

Mother polar bears aren't taught how to build dens for their cubs. It's a knowledge they're born with.

But Trump wants to let oil and gas companies plow through their cub-rearing havens with massive trucks — and scare mothers away with seismic tests, leaving cubs abandoned.

This nightmare could happen in just weeks, which is why we're taking legal action to block it and other oil and gas activity in the region.

Help us stop these attacks on polar bears by giving to the Saving Life on Earth Fund. All gifts through Dec. 31 will be matched.

Trump's assault on the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge has accelerated since he lost the election.

At a record pace and without waiting for public input, he'll be auctioning off oil and gas leases there.

And now he's issued a proposed permit for seismic testing that will wreak terrible harm on the refuge's polar bears.

It will allow convoys of 45-ton thumper trucks, tractors and bulldozers to roll over fragile tundra all day, all night, for weeks at a time.

We'll be in court fighting it, just as we're in court to keep oil and gas drilling out of 1.5 million acres of the refuge.

These are fights we can win. Last week we helped stop the Liberty Hilcorp project, which would have allowed offshore drilling to devastate Arctic waters.

Our fights now are to stop drilling in the heart of the refuge and save the polar bears and other wildlife that call this beautiful landscape home.

We're losing nearly a species an hour, yet the administration's happy to speed along both the extinction crisis and the climate crisis in one blow — by giving Big Oil a blank check to desecrate the Arctic.

We can't let Trump ruin one of the planet's last great places on his way out the door.

Please, help our fight for the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge today with a matched gift to the Saving Life on Earth Fund.

For the wild,
