Hi John,

Thank you for joining the Save the Children Action Network (SCAN) community! We started SCAN in 2014 because we were tired of lawmakers telling us that children are the future but then turning around to cut funding for programs that help kids.

With supporters like you, we work to hold politicians accountable and improve the lives of children here at home and around the world.

You can start helping kids right here in the U.S. by asking Congress to help expand quality child care through the country.

Half of our nation’s families live in what’s called a child care deserts. That means there are very few options for families seeking child care.

Quality child care helps social, emotional and cognitive development during the early, most important years of kids’ lives. It also allows parents to participate in the workforce and provide for their families.

This is why Congress needs to pass the Child Care Facilities and Workforce Act (H.R.1488/S.605). This bill would help would provide grants to states to enable them to create state-specific plans to address the child care desert crisis.

Urge your members of Congress to support this bill today!

Thank you for being a voice for kids,

Mark K. Shriver, CEO
