John,
Yesterday was unbelievable. We actually pulled off the biggest day of climate action in world history! Over 4 million people went on strike all over the world to demand immediate action to stop the climate crisis.1
We have a plan to keep this strike’s momentum going until we win a Green New Deal. Join our mass video call this Tuesday to hear all the details of our strategy, and to learn about the essential role you can play in making it happen.
Climate strikers in Washington DC, San Francisco, and New York City.
Yesterday, I was marching in New York. As you can see from the photos, the crowds there were totally overwhelming. As I chanted alongside 250,000 other voices, so loud I could barely hear myself, it suddenly felt real to me just how powerful this movement actually is.
Yesterday our generation took over. We really did. Our voices, our anger, our energy, our demands for serious climate action were everywhere--flooding the streets on all 7 continents, and on the front page of nearly every newspaper in the world. And now that we know what it feels like to take the streets and take control, we’re not stopping.
From now to election day 2020 and beyond, we need to build an unstoppable force in every city and town across the country that cannot be ignored by those in power. We will mobilize our generation in historic numbers to strike and vote so we can make crystal clear that any candidate who wants the youth vote in 2020 must make the Green New Deal a top priority.
You can help us seize the global climate strike’s momentum to kickstart the era of the Green New Deal. Join our mass video call this Tuesday at 8pm EST to learn how.
We are more powerful now than we’ve ever been. So let’s seize this moment and keep pushing.
