Today marks eight years since a gunman took the innocent lives of 26 students and teachers at Sandy Hook Elementary.

An immeasurable tragedy like Sandy Hook deserves time for mourning and reflection, but it also warrants action. We must do everything in our power to ensure that NO community has to go through what the families of Newtown, Connecticut went through 8 years ago.

But, what does action look like? It looks common-sense gun reform. For that to happen, however, we'll need bipartisanship from the Senate.

We'll need Democratic and Republican Senators to come together and prioritize the safety of Americans. The House of Representatives has already passed comprehensive gun measures, but now the Senate must do the same. We need to show Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell just how much the American people support common-sense gun reform.

Will you join me by demanding the Senate take action on gun violence by adding your name to our petition?

Thanks for taking action,
