John,
We wanted to make sure you saw Marie’s note from last week. She couldn’t be more excited to hit the ground running to fight for working people in Congress.
Big corporations and DC lobbyists aren’t always going to like her determination to build a more just economy, but they didn’t get us here-- you did.
When we began this race, we were told that we couldn’t win without money from corporate PACs, but we proved them wrong.
It’s folks like you who make all of this possible.
Onward,
Team Marie
John,
Yet again, Mitch McConnell and the Republicans are putting the interests of their corporate donors over American workers.
We’ve received word that Republicans are holding up essential COVID relief to demand a liability shield for big corporations. They don't think working people deserve relief unless big businesses are protected first.
I’m outraged. And I will fight tooth and nail against this nonsense when I am sworn into Congress in January. Families desperately need stimulus checks and extended unemployment-- holding up this relief is cruel and irresponsible. We must keep up the pressure to demand action for working people.
Unlike McConnell, I’m not beholden to corporate donors. My only bosses are my constituents in the Third District, and I’m not afraid to speak up when their needs are being ignored.
I’m not giving up, and neither should you.
Best,
Marie
