Bill of Rights Day commemorates the ratification of the first ten amendments, the Bill of Rights, on December 15, 1791. In celebration of the 150th anniversary in 1941,
President Franklin Delano Roosevelt issued a proclamation designating December 15, 1941, as Bill of Rights Day. Every president since 1962 has continued this tradition.
