Former Republican House Speaker Newt Gingrich has brazenly claimed that to keep control of the Senate, Republicans in Georgia have to “turn out more votes than Stacey Abrams can steal.”
That’s a bold statement from a member of the party that has historically bent the rules to suppress voting rights and disenfranchise millions of Americans of color -- the same party that is now largely refusing to accept the results of a presidential election that saw record turnout.
We knew Stacey Abrams would become a target for Republicans. After witnessing massive voter suppression in Georgia during the 2018 elections, Abrams dedicated herself to protecting every vote across the state -- and the country -- with her project Fair Fight.
Her efforts, and the efforts of Black and Brown activists across the state, are the reason why Georgia has a chance of turning the Senate blue. We’re proud to support the work Fair Fight and Stacey Abrams are doing to protect our democracy -- no matter the story the GOP is spinning. But today, we need to know where you stand:
