You’ve seen what happens with a Democratic majority in the House and a Republican-controlled Senate: while we’ve passed groundbreaking and long-awaited legislation to raise the federal minimum wage, restore the Voting Rights Act, end the failed War on Drugs, protect people with pre-existing conditions and lower the costs of prescription drugs, all of it has been stalled in McConnell’s self-described “legislative graveyard.”
Even now, in the middle of the holidays and the worst public health and economic crises we’ve ever seen, we can’t get McConnell and Republicans to pass desperately needed pandemic relief. This kind of gridlock will cost American lives and livelihoods.
