PFLAG Connects

Dear John:

This will be our last issue of the PFLAG Connects newsletter for 2020; you'll see our next issue on Monday, January 4, 2021.

We therefore want to take this opportunity to thank you for supporting our PFLAG Connects program, which began soon after the pandemic hit, at the end of March. To learn more about the program, visit pflag.org/connect.

We are so grateful to connect with you every week, and want to remind you that if you need support, we are here to provide it, year round. To connect with a chapter near you, visit pflag.org/find

We wish you a safe and healthy New Year and, like you, we look forward to more ways to stay connected in 2021.

Three Steps to Being a Better Ally in Your Faith Community (While You're Stuck At Home)

Just because you’re staying in doesn’t mean your ally skills should slow down. So stay safe and get engaged now!

  1. Learn: Check out PFLAG’s publication be not afraid - help is on the way! straight for equality in faith communities to learn more about what you can do to be a better ally to LGBTQ+ people in your faith community.
  2. Watch: There are countless amazing films that focus on the intersections of faith and religion and LGBTQ+ identities. We recommend checking out classic documentaries such as A Jihad for Love and Trembling Before G-d which may be available on streaming services in your area or virtually at your local library.
  3. Share: Use social media to spread the word about this week's episode of Something to Talk About Live (Thursday, December 17 at 4:30 pm Eastern/1:30 pm Pacific) about the experiences of people who are LGBTQ+ and Jewish. You can also share our May 28th show on the experiences of people who are LGBTQ+ and Muslim, or our November 12th show on the experiences of people who are LGBTQ+ and Christian.
