As the pandemic and economic crisis continue to put immense strain on working people, those who are still working are often working multiple jobs and still can't make ends meet.
The cost of the basics like rent, groceries, childcare, and medicine keeps going up--and relief from the pandemic seems nowhere to be found. A paycheck from a minimum wage job of $7.25 an hour doesn't cover what a person needs to live.
And while millions struggle to survive the ongoing pandemic and economic crisis on poverty wages, corporations are still raking in record profits. Congress has the chance to give raises to nearly 40 million working people--but they'll only do if WE demand action.
When lines at the food bank stretch for blocks, but corporations like Amazon make billions during the pandemic--it's clear our system isn't working.
Raising the minimum wage won't fix everything, but it's a key part of making sure we can better provide for our families--during and after the pandemic.
We've waited too long for a raise that would bring us relief. |

Working families need $15 an hour. Raising the minimum wage will help narrow racial and gender pay gaps, and finally give essential workers the chance to get closer to earning a living wage.
