John,

Eight years ago today, our children and loved ones were murdered at Sandy Hook Elementary. There are no words to describe how deeply we miss them, or how agonizing it is to mark another year since the last hug, smile or laugh we shared with them. No matter how much time goes by, it never gets any easier.

We desperately wish we could go back and change what happened that day, but we know we can't. They are gone forever.

On days like today – when the memories hit us in full and the pain is almost too much to bear – it brings such comfort to know you're by our side working to prevent other families from ever knowing this pain. So if we can ask one thing of you:

Today, eight years after the Sandy Hook Elementary shooting, will you join us by signing our special remembrance card to honor the lives taken on Dec. 14, 2012, and every day since, by gun violence?

There is no going back for us – only moving forward. Only honoring our loved ones' lives and legacies, making a Promise to do everything in our power to protect children from gun violence. And we can't thank you enough for standing with us today.

Thank you,

Sandy Hook Promise
