Dear John,

NEW POLLING: The public overwhelmingly support a deal.

Two-thirds of Brits want the government to reach a trade deal with the EU.

Our new polling, featured on the front page of today’s Mirror shows two-thirds (66%) of people asked want the government to stick to its promise, and deliver a deal.

Just 15% said they would prefer a no-deal outcome.

Both sides agreed to continue talks on Sunday. There is now only one deadline that matters – the end of the transition period.

The Prime Minister has no mandate for a no deal – he never has. No deal was presented as a complete impossibility during the 2016 referendum. He was elected to deliver a deal that would be Best for Britain. He told voters the chance of no-deal was 'a million to one'.

Now, at the eleventh hour, in the midst of a generational economic recession, Boris Johnson must deliver. A deal is there to be done if he decides to do it. The ability and the responsibility to reach a deal rests on his shoulders. Send a message to the Prime Minister.

Our new polling, which samples nearly 2,000 people, found that Conservative voters prefer a trade deal to a no-deal outcome by a ratio of 2 to 1.

And half of Leave voters want a deal.

Every region in the UK came out in favour of an EU trade deal by the end of this year. London and the North of England were the regions with the highest levels of support for a deal, at 73% and 68% respectively.

We’ve given up hope that the Prime Minister might deliver a deal even remotely similar to the one he promised the electorate.

But for now, he must secure a trade deal. A deal on which we can build substantial trading alignment, co-operation and trust.

Despite the continuation of talks, Boris Johnson has still said no deal is “the most likely outcome”. Send a message to the Prime Minister, and remind him what he promised the electorate.

We at Best for Britain are committed to fighting for a deal, by polling the public and reaching decision-makers in the national press.

Nobody voted to leave without a deal. Nobody voted to be worse off, pay more for worse food and deepen a devastating economic recession. Nobody believes Johnson that we would “prosper mightily” under No Deal.

Boris Johnson: there is still time for you to keep your promise, and deliver a deal.

Best wishes,

Naomi Smith,
CEO, Best for Britain
