As socialists, it's imperative that we organize as workers, whether we currently belong to unions or not. Please take a couple of minutes to fill out this form and answer a few questions about your employment, even if you are currently unemployed or perform unpaid work. Doing so will help our chapter better organize and support our members at and across our workplaces.

Slack changes

MADSA’s Steering Committee recently voted to make some administrative changes to how our chapter’s Slack is structured, with the goals of:

• Using Slack as an organizing tool rather than a social network for the chapter.
• Encouraging more one-on-one/smaller group interactions.
• Making Slack less confusing/noisy for new members.

The main changes to be aware of are:

• Public channels which have a very large number of users and/or a poorly-defined purpose will be archived.
• A single channel, #announcements, will be used for all chapter-wide updates and events. Committee members will have posting access.
• A chapter-wide social channel will be created, but it will be opt-in.
