Plenary Session | Digital Acts | Migration and Asylum
This week, MEPs will debate and vote on several topics during plenary sessions, such as the conclusion of the EU-Japan Civil Aviation Safety Agreement, additional resources in the context of the COVID-19 pandemic, and rules and general principles concerning mechanisms for control by Member States of the Commission’s exercise of implementing powers.
On Tuesday, the Commission is expected to launch the Digital Services Act and Digital Markets Act. In addition, the Commission will adopt its Communication on a Cybersecurity Strategy.

Today, a vote will take place on the conclusion of the EU-Japan Civil Aviation Safety Agreement. On Tuesday, a debate on additional resources in the context of the COVID-19 pandemic will take place. On Wednesday, MEPs will debate and vote on rules and general principles concerning mechanisms for control by Member States of the Commission’s exercise of implementing powers. Debates on cases of breaches of human rights, democracy and the rule of law take place on Thursday.

On Tuesday, the Commission is expected to adopt its Communication on a Cybersecurity Strategy, review the Directive on security of network and information systems, and adopt its Action plan for non-performing loans (NPLs). The Commission will also propose a Directive on the resilience of critical entities and additional measures on critical infrastructure protection. In addition, the Commission will put forward a package of legislation which includes the Digital Services Act and the Digital Markets Act.

On Monday, Justice and Home Affair ministers will discuss, among other things, the migration and asylum pact. On Tuesday and Wednesday, ministers for Agriculture and Fisheries will be briefed on the state of play of the post-2020 Common Agricultural Policy (CAP) reform package. On top of that, the ministers plan to find an agreement and adopt conclusions on an EU-wide animal welfare label and front-of-pack nutrition labelling, nutrient profiles and origin labelling.
