AP News: "The Trump administration opted last summer not to lock in a chance to buy millions of additional doses of one of the leading coronavirus vaccine contenders, a decision that could delay the delivery of a second batch of doses until manufacturer Pfizer fulfills other international contracts."

Donald Trump has egregiously mishandled our country's pandemic response -- that much is certain. But in the final days of his presidency, Donald Trump could still do almost anything. He could impose a national mask mandate or encourage social distancing guidelines to take control of the virus that's already taken hundreds of thousands of American lives. He and his Senate could pass additional stimulus relief bills or bolster our struggling Social Security program.

Instead, Trump has chosen to prevent military bases honoring Confederate leaders from being renamed and expand his border wall with Mexico.

In other words, he's chosen racism, pettiness, and to leave hardworking Americans desperate for economic relief out in the cold.

Fortunately, Trump will be on his way out of the White House come January 20, and we'll get to have faith in our leaders again. It's going to take a lot of time, hard work, and energy to repair the damage this xenophobic science-denier doled out from the White House -- but we know we can do it, especially with Joe Biden and Kamala Harris in charge.

The bad news is that if Jon Ossoff and Raphael Warnock don't win their Senate runoffs in Georgia, Mitch McConnell will continue to use his congressional majority to block Democratic progress at every turn, making the long road ahead of Biden and Kamala a whole lot longer.

When Democrats Turn Out is committed to supporting Democrats across the country as they champion progressive policies that'll expand climate change protections, reform our broken police force and criminal justice system, protect our access to affordable health care, and defend our voting rights. But since the election is behind us, Americans are turning their attention elsewhere -- and as a consequence, we're running low on funds.

If we don't raise another $2,607 by midnight tonight, we'll have to scale back our critical grassroots work as the new administration sets its legislative priorities. That's why we're reaching out to you now. As one of our most ardent supporters, we know it's important to you that Democrats reclaim our country from the clutches of the GOP -- and it's going to take ALL of us chipping in to do it.

Together, we can create a truly forward-thinking political system that works for all of us. We can ensure that the issues that most impact our lives are addressed by those in power. Most importantly, we can have a voice in shaping the direction our country takes moving forward. But we need your help, which is why we need to ask: Will you pitch in $10, $25, $50, or whatever you can spare to help Democrats champion progressive reform in 2021 and beyond? >> [link removed]
