Hello,

We did it. Joe Biden and Kamala Harris have won, and Trump will be forced to leave the White House in January.

But Democrats have a new pressing concern: We’re still short of the supermajority needed to break filibusters blocking legislation, which means we could still see Democratic progress wither and die at the hands of McConnell’s filibusters for years to come.

Some Democrats are calling for the elimination of the filibuster -- including former president Barack Obama. “Once we pass the John Lewis Voting Rights Act, we should keep marching. And if all this takes eliminating the filibuster -- another Jim Crow relic -- in order to secure the God-given rights of every American, then that’s what we should do.”

Other liberals have gotten behind the cause, acknowledging that the filibuster has “impeded Democratic initiatives on gun safety, immigration and health care,” among other progressive issues. Between now and January, it’s vital that we make our voices heard and hold our lawmakers accountable to our needs -- is this one of them? Let us know right now:

Should Democrats end the Senate filibuster?
