John,

In his characteristically racist style, Donald Trump is pushing to exclude undocumented immigrants from the census population totals when deciding congressional redistriciting.

That’s probably because “eliminating the undocumented would shift representation from some more diverse states with large immigrant populations to states where the population is more white,” as The Washington Post reports.

So far, the Supreme Court seems skeptical of upholding Trump’s stance, but the court agreed to reach a decision before January 1, and according to The Washington Post, the Trump administration “is hurrying to finish the count and submit the reapportionment report to Congress before President-elect Joe Biden is inaugurated Jan. 20.”

Despite Donald Trump’s incessant attacks against the undocumented community and his desire to spin the narrative, undocumented immigrants have contributed over $20 billion in federal taxes, and eighty percent are currently essential workers. We believe that they deserve not only to be counted but properly represented in our legislature. But as SCOTUS hangs on a decision, we need to know where you stand:

Should undocumented immigrants be excluded from the census count?
