Today, cybercrime is $1 trillion dollar drag on the global economy—an increase of over 50% since 2018. However, slightly more than half of surveyed organizations said they do not have plans to both prevent and respond to a cyber incident.

In 1950, less than one-third of the global population lived in cities; in 2050, less than one-third will be rural. As the world's landscapes undergo rapid urbanization, the United States will need to shift its gaze from the Sahel to Sao Paulo and from the Hindu Kush to Kinshasa to promote economic prosperity, secure lives and livelihoods, and revitalize democracy across the globe.
