John, are you upset about how the United States is treating asylum seekers at our borders? I know I am.

Just this past week, the Trump administration made it even harder for those seeking safety from persecution to qualify for asylum by issuing a final rule which would effectively end asylum as we know it. Imagine being a victim of gang violence, persecution because of your gender or sexual orientation, or a survivor of domestic abuse – and being told your suffering wasn’t enough.

When you donate to the National Immigrant Justice Center (NIJC), you're standing up to the harmful policies that have eroded our asylum system. You're ensuring that our country's policies reflect our values of liberty and justice for all and being a haven for the persecuted.

Give now to protect asylum seekers at https://immigrantjustice.org/donate.

NIJC has been at the forefront of advocating for the rights of asylum seekers. For the past three decades, we’ve been representing asylum seekers together with our volunteer attorneys and have won protection for people nearly 90% of the time. We’ve traveled to the border to monitor human rights violations and ensure asylum seekers receive legal services. We’ve filed lawsuits to protect asylum seekers and challenge attempts to destroy the asylum system.

And we can only do it because of you.

Supporters like you submitted more than 3,700 comments to the federal register opposing proposed asylum rules that would destroy our values. Raising your voice was step one. Now, our work together continues.

NIJC needs your continued support as we work to roll back harmful policies and advocate for an asylum system that recognizes that all people have dignity and deserve to be safe.

Your donation before the end of the year is an investment in more humane immigration policies, safe futures for asylum seekers, and a more welcoming country in 2021 and many years to come.

Donate now to protect asylum seekers at https://immigrantjustice.org/donate.

Thank you for defending asylum seekers and standing up for your values.
