Hello John,

Happy International Peace Day!

September 21st was officially established as The International Day of Peace by the United Nations in 1981 to commemorate the ideals of peace and abolish war and violence.

According to the 2019 Global Peace Index, Iceland is the most peaceful country in the world, followed by New Zealand, Portugal, Austria and Denmark.

Even though International Peace Day was adopted by the United Nations, we are living proof that do not need government to secure peace in the world.

Economists believe that the best way to promote world peace is through free trade. The capitalist peace theory argues that free trade makes countries more commercially interdependent and provides strong incentives to avoid war. Free trade is the most cost effective way to resolve disputes and improve global cooperation. Free trade, the rule of law, and property rights are the cornerstones of world peace.

Celebrate International Peace Day with Students For Liberty!
