Friends --

Being a "do-nothing" senator used to be one of the worst accusations you could lodge about an elected official. But honestly, Florida would be better off with a lazy senator than we are with one who spends his time on destructive activities the way Senator Marco Rubio does.

As we near the end of Senator Rubio's second term, let's take a look at some of his low points:

❌ Accepted over $3 million in contributions from the NRA and refused to reconsider his relationship with the organization even after the devastating attacks at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School and Pulse nightclub

❌ Voted repeatedly to repeal the Affordable Care Act -- even though a huge number of Floridians purchase their insurance through the marketplace -- all while receiving thousands in contributions from pharmaceutical companies

❌ Stonewalled President Barack Obama's nomination of the highly qualified Judge Merrick Garland to the Supreme Court in 2016, but then rushed to embrace President Trump's nomination of the ideologically extreme Amy Coney Barrett in 2020. He even supported a tasteless campaign to sell t-shirts depicting Barrett as "The Notorious ACB," a clear slap in the face to recently departed Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg

❌ Propped up President Trump's baseless claims of voter fraud, helping to sow doubt about the legitimacy of President-elect Joe Biden's decisive victory

❌ Betrayed Florida's immigrant population repeatedly by:
-- Supporting the Trump administration's efforts to add a citizenship question to the census. The inclusion of this question would have led to an undercounting of vulnerable immigrant communities.
-- Calling DACA unconstitutional and supporting the Trump administration's efforts to eliminate it.
-- Advocating for the end of family-based immigration -- apparently forgetting that his own parents benefited from that system.
Senator Marco Rubio uses his position to work against the best interests of his constituents. Our state deserves leaders who serve Florida, not corporate donors and special interests. While we lack that kind of representation in the Senate, we're lucky to have Congresswoman Stephanie Murphy, who has always been dedicated to working across the aisle to deliver results for Florida.

Right now, we're running a $1 donor drive to support Stephanie and ensure she has the resources she needs to stay focused on working for the people of Florida. If you believe it's important to keep leaders like Stephanie in Congress, will you chip in today to show your support?
