The American people can’t wait a moment longer for real COVID relief.
Last week, a bipartisan group of lawmakers offered a proposal that would provide $908 billion in much needed federal aid. The bill would help state and local governments maintain critical services, keep small businesses afloat, extend unemployment for those in need, help schools adapt, and strengthen vaccine distribution. Measures that are long overdue.
This bill isn’t perfect and I wish it did so much more. But I’m not willing to let the perfect be the enemy of the good -- especially if the “good” delivers real aid for my constituents right here in CA-49.
Please read and share this op-ed calling out Leader McConnell and calling on my colleagues across the aisle to put aside our differences to save lives and livelihoods. I need your help to build momentum for this important legislation.
