Dear John:
Senate Republican Leader Mitch McConnell has sworn never to let Medicare for All come to a vote in the Senate. “Not as long as I'm majority leader,” he says.
Later this month, we have a chance to make sure that Mitch isn’t majority leader for much longer.
Early voting in the Senate runoff elections in Georgia will begin in just a few days, and election day for the runoff is on January 5. If we elect Jon Ossoff and Rev. Raphael Warnock, we’ll not only defeat two corrupt senators who profited from insider information about the COVID-19 pandemic, we’ll remove the biggest barrier to health care for all in American politics: McConnell’s stranglehold on the Senate.
We’re hosting phone banks and text banks over the next several days to finish the job in Georgia. R.S.V.P. now to help us flip these seats and flip the Senate! With margins expected to be razor-thin in these races, it’s no exaggeration to say that your calls and texts may flip the Senate.
If you’ve never done this before, don’t worry! We’ll train you and stay on Zoom with you as you make your calls and send your texts.
We defeated Trump because of the work you put in over the past several months. Help us finish the fight in Georgia and win a real path for Medicare for All.
In love and solidarity,
Aija Nemer-Aanerud
