Hello,

Of the 1,000+ people killed by the police in 2020 alone, 28% of them have been Black -- despite Black people only making up 13% of the country’s population.

During his time in office, Donald Trump has said he doesn’t “believe that” systemic racism exists in the police force. But according to a Harvard University study of police-related deaths in the U.S. from 2013-2017, Black people are more than 3 times as likely to be killed during police contact than white people.

This year, we’ve witnessed the biggest civil rights movement in history following the police killings of George Floyd, Breonna Taylor, Rayshard Brooks, and others -- nationwide demonstrations all demanding justice. But police have still been killing Black Americans at alarming rates -- and since George Floyd’s murder, the racial disaprity in police killings has actually increased.

Joe Biden and Kamala Harris have the opportunity to reform the police and make restorative justice a priority. They’ve already proposed a national ban on police chokeholds, but many Americans are calling for much more than that. Over the next few weeks, it’s up to us to make our voices heard so that Biden and Kamala know exactly what we want to see them do when they take office next month. So tell us now:

Do you demand police reform?
