Dear John:

One month from today, January 11, is our first public reporting deadline of 2021.

With the presidential election finally over, New Yorkers are paying a lot more attention to the 2021 candidates -- and there will be more scrutiny on our numbers than ever before.

This is the biggest chance yet to show the strength of our people-powered movement to bring bold, progressive leadership to the NYC Comptroller’s office. That’s why we’ve set an ambitious grassroots goal: Raising another $10,000 online in the next 30 days.

John, can you join our team of more than 3,500 grassroots donors and make your first contribution of $10 to our people-powered campaign today? If you give $10, it will be matched by $80 in public financing, and the campaign will receive $90 -- make an impact on the future of NYC today → [[link removed]]

Since our last big reporting deadline in July, three high-profile opponents have officially launched their campigns.

Another candidate -- AOC’s Wall Street-backed 2020 primary challenger -- is also considering a run.

However, I'm incredibly proud to report that we're STILL the only campaign refusing to take money from for-profit developers, police unions, and corporate interests!

Building a citywide campaign with small-dollar donors, for an office that -- let’s face it, most people aren’t familiar with -- is not easy. But the NYC Comptroller’s role as the city’s chief fiscal officer, stewarding the public’s money through good times and bad, couldn’t be more critical right now.

As we fight to end this pandemic and emerge from this recession, New Yorkers need leaders who will be laser-focused on making sure our recovery supports and uplifts all our communities, not just the most fortunate ones. You can’t transform the status quo that left us so vulnerable in this crisis if you’re taking checks from those who got us here in the first place.

John, I truly believe that if we have the resources to reach every NYC voter, our message will win the day -- and we can deliver new citywide leadership that puts our long-term well-being before short-term profit.

If you’re able, please chip in toward our ambitious grassroots goal today. Every $1 you give will be matched by $8 in public financing → [[link removed]]
