As The Hill pointed out: “Barr’s comments are his first about the integrity of the election since it took place one month ago, and they mark the latest rebuke of Trump’s efforts to undermine the results. The attorney general is the highest-ranking administration official and Republican to date to contradict Trump’s claims about the election.”
Trump’s greatest co-conspirator has caved, and it’s clear why: Biden’s voter turnout over Trump was just too overwhelming. Thanks to our historic turnout, Trump's chances of stealing the presidency come January 20 are virtually nonexistent.
It’s a remarkable development -- but it’s not one we can afford to dwell on. Though top Republicans are now attempting to distance themselves from Trump’s baseless claims, his base remains as loyal as ever. 70% of Republicans STILL don’t think this was a free and fair election.
This kind of riling up of his base is exactly what the GOP hopes will inspire Georgians to overwhelmingly turn out for Loeffler and Perdue for the Senate runoff elections on January 5. Democrats may have resoundingly won the presidency, but we’re facing an uphill battle to take control of the Senate -- and we’re running out of time. The Biden-Harris administration NEEDS a friendly Congress that will pass their policy agenda. That’s why we are imploring you to join us in this fight.
