A Project of Free Press
50 years from now the transformation we’ve been advocating for will be complete and we’ll see abundantly resource-rich Black communities controlling their own narratives and futures. But to make this a reality, we have to change conditions in 2020. Sign up to learn more about our media-reparations work and receive our monthly newsletter.

Friend,

Hello, community. I’m Alicia Bell, director of the Media 2070 project, a consortium of folks dedicated to unearthing the history of systemic media racism and collectively transforming our future.

This year we’ve seen a number of newsrooms begin to reckon with their perpetuation of anti-Blackness. Courageous journalists of color have started a dialogue — and we’re excited to help cultivate that change as we dream up media reparations.

So starting today, we will be sharing a monthly newsletter that touches on what’s new, informative and inspiring in the future of journalism and media. Sign up today to join our team and get access to the Media 2070 newsletter.

Make no mistake: We aren’t waiting until 2070. We’re transforming realities now so that justice is fully real by then, and beyond.

Thank you for joining us on this journey.
