John,
This week, two unions representing Social Security Administration (SSA) employees—AFGE Council 220 and the Association of Administrative Law Judges—announced votes of no confidence in the agency’s leadership. This is an unprecedented step from two unions that normally go out of their way to work with leaders nominated by both parties.
But in surveys, members of both unions expressed an overwhelming lack of confidence in Social Security Commissioner Andrew Saul and Deputy Commissioner David Black, both Trump appointees who plan to stay on into the Biden administration.
Social Security Works is leading the call for President-elect Biden’s day 1 mantra to be “you’re fired!” Chip in $7 to save Social Security from Trump appointees!
We have assembled a coalition to collect nearly 225,000 signatures urging Joe Biden to remove Saul, Black, and Deputy Commissioner Mark Warshawsky (the apparent mastermind behind an ongoing regulatory war on disability beneficiaries) on day 1 of his administration.
Social Security beneficiaries and SSA employees agree: Donald Trump’s political appointees are undermining our Social Security system, and Biden must remove them immediately.
The Trump administration will leave mountains of chaos in its wake. But we cannot allow SSA’s anti-Social Security leadership to stay on the back burner. We’re putting this front and center!
Donate today to make sure Joe Biden fires the anti-Social Security Trump appointees at the Social Security Administration!
Thanks,
Alex Lawson Social Security Works
