SO YOU HAVE DONE SOMETHING TO PROTECT THE OCEAN!

We knew it. Was it a beach clean? Plastic protest? Fundraising swim?

YOU’VE done amazing things. WE’VE done amazing things together. All in the name of the big blue. It’s time to celebrate those achievements and get yourself nominated for a Plastic Free Award. [[link removed]]

We get it. It can feel a bit weird to think of yourself as someone who deserves an award. But, guess what. You do! After the year you’ve had, to still put yourself out there, organising, rallying, fundraising, challenging, actioning… recognition is the least we can do and we’re not taking no for an answer.

Nominate yourself here! [[link removed]]

PICTURE THIS.

In April, you could be sharing a table, dinner and drinks with some of the industry’s leading voices on ocean conservation. People like Lucy Siegle, Richard Walker, Liz Bonin and our very own Hugo Tagholm. (More on our judging panel here [[link removed]]). They’ll all be there to celebrate the incredible achievements of ocean activists across the UK.

News flash. By ocean activist, we mean you. Every action you take makes a difference. Together, we are a great wave and we’re only getting stronger.

SO WHAT NOW?

We invite you. No, demand, that you put yourself forward for an award.

Share this email. Get loud on social media with a message like this:

The #plasticfreeawards are back and I’d like your help in getting a nomination for… [add your project/contribution]. All the details are here: [[link removed]]. 10 mins, 10 questions. I, and the ocean, appreciate your support!

Tell your friends and family to put your name forward.

The whole process takes 10 minutes and what’s 10 minutes to highlight the hours of dedication you’ve put into protecting the ocean and UK waterways from plastic and sewage pollution?

Nominations close in February so spread the word and get those nominations in.

The ocean needs more people like you! 🌊
