We helped defeat one of the most conservative Democrats in Congress.

Justice Democrats

John, last week 6 Democrats in the U.S. House, including Dan Lipinski, split with the rest of the party and voted AGAINST marijuana decriminalization. This position is inexcusable, especially for a Democrat. The War on Drugs has fueled mass incarceration and disproportionately hurt Black and brown communities. And the majority of Americans even support the full legalization of marijuana.

Dan Lipinski has consistently been one of the most conservative Democrats in the House for more than a decade — opposing abortion rights and the Affordable Care Act. Luckily, Dan won’t be in office much longer, and he’ll be replaced by Marie Newman — a Justice Democrat we helped defeat Lipinski. Marie supports full marijuana legalization, abortion rights, and Medicare for All.

We have an incredible opportunity to continue replacing conservative Democrats with progressives like Marie, Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, and Jamaal Bowman with your grassroots support. Can you fuel our work to keep adding progressive fighters to Congress with a $3 contribution today?

Newman defeating Lipinski was a critical victory for our movement. Voters are ready to increase the number of progressive leaders in Congress who will fight for Medicare for All and a Green New Deal.

Lipinski took over his Congressional seat from his dad in 2005 with the help of machine politics and corporate donors. That’s over now. Justice Democrats helped take back that seat for the people, and now Marie will be a leader for all of us.

Help us win back more seats in Congress for the people and win progressive change as we fight to transform the Democratic Party with a donation right now.

In solidarity,

Justice Democrats
