This year, Hanukkah coincides with the anniversary of the Jersey City tragedy, and to remember the lives lost, ADL released this video. Each of us, as we stand up against hate, is one small light that, combined with others, can become a beacon.

ADL Honors Heroes in the Fight Against Bigotry, Antisemitism
On Sunday, ADL recognized Gerda Weissmann Klein, Team Brownsville and Bellen Woodard for their extraordinary courage and compassion when confronted with bias and injustice as part of the 26th annual ADL In Concert Against Hate.
This year’s event, which was held virtually on December 6, was hosted by Debra Messing, and featured performances from an array of stars including Adam Levine, George Takei, Aloe Blacc, Ifetayo Ali-Landing, Olivia Boisson, Andra Day, Jason Isbell, Bebe Neuwirth, Kenny Loggins, Rafe Perlman, Grace Love and Bob Costas.

ADL Statement on Facebook Reportedly "Overhauling" Hate Speech Algorithms
ADL CEO and National Director Jonathan A. Greenblatt said the following regarding reports that Facebook is "overhauling" its algorithms that detect hate speech:
"While we are encouraged that Facebook is attacking the most serious symptoms of the disease that it permitted to spread for so many years, we need to see additional steps to cure the sickness of hate on social media. We want to see Facebook make a long-term commitment to change with clear public commitment to milestones and timing." Read more | |

BINAH: A New ADL Online Course on Antisemitism and Hate
The latest in ADL Education’s antisemitism programs, BINAH – Building Insights to Navigate Antisemitism and Hate – is a digital, interactive course for high school students that helps build empathy and allyship.
The course, created in partnership with Everfi, motivates students to identify as global citizens with respect for all people, regardless of the makeup of their school community. Students learn through short real-world stories, helping them engage with topics like the Holocaust, the lives of Hasidic Jews, immigration and antisemitic acts in America. These personal stories help students build empathy, perspective and allyship.

ADL Task Force Welcomes Passage of House Resolutions Supporting Mideast Minorities
This week, ADL’s Task Force on Middle East Minorities welcomed the bipartisan passage of two important House Resolutions that the Task Force had endorsed earlier this year as part of its work supporting the rights of vulnerable groups. The two resolutions are
H. Res. 512, which raises concern about the harm caused by blasphemy, heresy, and apostasy laws, including against minority groups and H. Res. 823, which condemns the Government of Iran’s state-sponsored persecution of its Baha’i minority.
