John.
Last night, armed with AK-47 style rifles, two shooters opened fire in a Washington, D.C. neighborhood killing one and wounding five more. Just a few miles away, literally in the shadows of the U.S. Capitol, three more people were shot and one person was killed.
This can’t keep happening. Assault weapons, like the AK-47, were designed for war. They have no place in our communities. [[link removed]]
John, at Brady, we’re working every day to take assault weapons off our streets. We led the fight for the 1994 federal assault weapons ban. We’re fighting hard to reinstate it, and we’re nearing historic support right now. But we need your help!
Can you support our campaign to ban assault weapons by chipping in $10, $25, $50, or more? [[link removed]]

So far in 2019, 125 people have been killed in D.C. You would think that so much gun violence in Congress’s backyard would prompt them to action, yet Senator Mitch McConnell still refuses to bring any gun safety legislation up for a vote. We must keep fighting until the Senate takes action.
We need your help to keep pushing for common-sense gun safety legislation, including an assault weapons ban. Can we count on your support today? [[link removed]]

We can’t wait until the next tragedy. We need to act now!
Thank you for your support.
