Export Development Canada (EDC) and the Canadian Commercial Corporation (CCC) are a vital part of the Government of Canada’s commitment to helping Canadian businesses of all sizes grow and succeed, including in diversified export markets. This is more important than ever as we work to build a strong economic recovery from COVID-19.
Today, the Honourable Mary Ng, Minister of Small Business, Export Promotion and International Trade, announced the following appointments for terms of 4 years:
The responsibility of the boards is to supervise the direction and management of the EDC and CCC, oversee their strategic development, and identify opportunities for the organizations to serve Canadian businesses better.
The appointments are made based on an open, transparent, and merit-based selection process developed to attract high-quality candidates while reflecting gender parity and Canada’s diversity.

EDC is a Crown corporation that has been Canada’s export credit agency since 1944, facilitating the international business activities of Canadian companies both large and small in every industry across the country.
Over 75 years, EDC has facilitated more than $1 trillion in export and investment activity.
Financially self-sufficient, EDC operates on commercial principles.
Established in 1946, CCC helps Canadian exporters sell products and services to foreign government buyers.
As Canada’s government-to-government contracting service, CCC has worked with 157 Canadian exporters in 2019 and 2020, signing $1.25 billion in export contracts on their behalf.
EDC and CCC report to Parliament through the Minister of Small Business, Export Promotion and International Trade.
