Georgia remains under the national spotlight as the race to Senate heats up. Here are three things you need to know:

1. Georgia Senate runoff races continue to heat up as election day rapidly approaches. On Tuesday, January 5, Georgians will decide the fate of the U.S. Senate. We need a Congress that will work in the interest of hardworking Americans. If elected, Jon Ossoff and Rev. Raphael Warnock will advocate for the people of Georgia. 2. Distribution of the coronavirus vaccine begins soon in Georgia but will likely take months before reaching the general public. The path to healing has begun and we must remain diligent in fighting this virus. Daily confirmed cases are expected to hit record highs through the holiday season. Wear a mask, wash your hands, and maintain a 6 foot distance to protect yourself and those around you. 3. Reforming the federal government’s laws on marijuana is long overdue. This week, the House passed H.R. 3884 Marijuana Opportunity Reinvestment and Expungement (MORE) Act of 2020. In addition to decriminalizing marijuana, this bill will create taxes on marijuana to fund new grant programs and expunge previous marijuana convictions of non-violent offenders.
