We all know how hot it can be in Arizona. Unfortunately, we have seen too many cases of children left in hot cars. Every story is heartbreaking, and it can happen to anyone. I met two Arizona families this week that lost children from being left in cars. Dawn, Wes and Beth shared their stories with me, and I received demonstrations of new technology in cars that can help prevent these unfortunate accidents. I thank them for sharing their stories and for working tirelessly to bring awareness to this important issue that happens all across our country.

Standing Up for Law Enforcement

I stand with our law enforcement officers. That is why when House Judiciary Committee Democrats tried to vilify them this week, I reminded people of all the good work done by our men and women in blue by sharing stories of our Arizona police officers. Watch my statement here:

Casework Highlight

A constituent contacted our office because his son was denied the Social Security benefits he had been receiving without any explanation from Social Security. This created a hardship for their family as Social Security and Disability is their only source of income. We reached out to the Social Security Administration, and they confirmed the issue was related to some documentation issues. We worked with the constituent to get updated paperwork. Once that was submitted, the constituent once again started to receive his benefits.

I was so pleased to recognize Audrina, a Girl Scout from Peoria, with Arizona’s District 8 Congressional Recognition. Audrina and her family find damaged and battered American flags they see around the community, and with the permission of the homeowner or business, they replace it with a new one. She takes the time to retire old flags properly and also educates the community on flag etiquette. Audrina is so inspiring; I thank her for her work to proudly fly our American flag across all over our community!
