John -- The depths of the Trump administration's cruelty never ceases to amaze me.
Last week, after years of relentless litigation, advocacy, and organizing, the Trump administration reluctantly handed over the phone numbers and addresses of HUNDREDS of separated parents and children who have yet to be reunited.
This contact information had been intentionally withheld from the many non-profits within our coalition and beyond who have been working nonstop to find the parents and children the government lost and then subsequently lied about.
While this is an enormous win for children and families, the fact that they had this information -- and sat on it for years despite our collective pleas to help us reunite families -- is astounding. And it shows just how important this tireless and constant pressure is, and to keep up this essential work I need to ask:
Can you donate $25 now to support our work reuniting families, supporting them on the long road to recovery, and fighting for a world driven by compassion and empathy rather than cruelty?
If you've saved your payment information with FastAction, your donation will go through immediately.
It is hard to think of a more cruel, callous, and unconscionable act than hiding crucial information that could help facilitate the reunification of children with their parents.
This incredible development ONLY happened because of public pressure: the information was released after a tense exchange on family separations during the final presidential debate, and after years of legal, grassroots, and communications work that has pulled the curtain back on our cruel immigration system.
This is what we do, and it works. We *will. not. stop.* until every single family is reunited and given the support to heal no matter what. If you're able, can you donate $25 now to Families Belong Together to help us keep up this critical work?
I know it's been an exceptionally difficult year, but we are enormously grateful for everything you do.
From the bottom of my heart -- thank you.
Sincerely,
Paola Luisi, Director
