I'm a product of the Bronx, and like many here, I'm also a product of public housing, public schools, and public hospitals. Overcoming obstacles and beating odds are nothing new to me, or to people like my mother, who raised a family on just $4.25 an hour in the 90s. It wasn't always easy, but growing up under tough circumstances made me a fighter. It taught me to have empathy for others, and it led me to a life of public service.
 
As we embark on this journey to build a better Bronx, it's an honor and a privilege to have grassroots supporters like you by my side -- committed folks who have had my back from the beginning.
