Our next Webinar will take place tomorrow Saturday, 12th December from 11am to 12noon.  The event is free and open to all but pre-registration is essential.

We will be joined by Co-Chairs of the new All Party Oireachtas Life and Dignity Group, TDs, Carol Nolan and Peter Fitzpatrick who will share their hopes for the Group in the coming weeks and months. The Life and Dignity group launched a report last week entitled 'Late-term Abortion and Foetal Pain - A Humane Response'. WATCH REVEALING EXCHANGE between Senator Rónán Mullen and Minister Simon Harris about the reality of babies survivng abortions.

VERY REVEALING EXCHANGE!!

Watch Minister Simon Harris in 2018 refusing to engage with Senator Rónán Mullen when he points out that babies sometimes survive the abortion procedure and are left to die. Minister Harris can be heard muttering under his breath that the Senator's remarks are "disgusting".

Just two years on, a UCC study confirms babies have survived the abortion procedure but were left to die. Neither Minister Harris or the current Minister for Health have issued any public statement on this horryifying development.

Listen Back to Eilís Mulroy on Newstalk yesterday discussing the repeal of the 8th amendment.

Newstalk's deep-seated bias on full display again

Yesterday, Newstalk featured several interviews on repeal of the Eighth Amendment as part of its series ‘20 Most Influential Moments of the Last 20 Years’.

You won’t be surprised to hear that they devoted 28.5 minutes over the course of the day to interviewing supporters of abortion and gave just under 5 minutes to the pro-life side!

While it’s true to type for Newstalk and RTÉ to indulge in such biased coverage on abortion, it doesn’t mean we should sit back and accept it.

There has been an over 60 per cent increase in the number of abortions since repeal and as we know from the recent UCC study, babies that survive late-term abortions are being left to die unaided. And yet, despite all this Newstalk happily devotes an entire day to propagandising about how wonderful repeal has been, while doing everything in its power to gloss over the horrors happening under the new abortion regime they celebrate.

Eilís Mulroy of the Pro Life Campaign made some excellent points yesterday morning in her brief interview on Newstalk, despite the constant interruptions, selective use of statistics and refusal of presenter Ciara Kelly to fairly engage on the issues.

We will continue to take every opportunity to publicly highlight the injustice of our abortion law, but we also need to unite together in addressing the state of public discourse in Ireland, where campaigners are masquerading as journalists while the public are being kept in the dark about the truth of what is going on.

Foetal Pain Virtual Postcard. Take a moment to send a message to your TDs and Senators today
It has been a really encouraging fortnight on the pro-life front with the launch of the Oireachtas Life and Dignity Group’s report on abortion and foetal pain, followed by several outstanding contributions in the Dáil last week on the issue.

It was very noticeable that the Government were not prepared for the force and compelling nature of what the pro-life TDs had to say regarding the horrifying reality (confirmed in the recent UCC report) that babies are being born alive after failed abortions and left to die in Irish hospitals, and the fact that babies undergoing late term abortions are given no pain relief before the procedure takes place.

Minister of State for Public Health, Frank Feighan, was criticised in the Dáil chamber by several TDs for not answering their questions on the matter and for giving a scripted reply on behalf of the Government. At times he seemed lost for words but in the end undertook to consult with the Minister for Health and report back with a more detailed response.

The real significance though of the past few days is that finally after two years the truth and horror of the new abortion law is being brought out into the open. Politicians who were banging the drum and screaming for abortion in 2018 are suddenly nowhere to be seen.

But the politicians that defended life during the referendum are the ones standing strong and demanding answers.

To give momentum to what they are doing, pro-life supporters need to get behind their efforts. Please take 1 minute to send an e-card to your local Oireachtas members on the issues raised this week by pro-life TDs and Senators.

You can send the message here.

When you’ve done that, please share the link with friends and family!

Let’s build on the great work done this week by our wonderful pro-life Oireachtas representatives who are working tirelessly on our behalf and on behalf of unborn babies and their mothers.

WATCH excellent input from pro-life TDs in the Dáil last week 👏👏  Click above to watch some of our pro-life TDs in action!

Following on from last Wednesday’s launch of the All Party Oireachtas Life and Dignity Group’s report on late-term abortion and foetal pain, several pro-life TDs used special speaking time in the Dáil last week to demand answers from the Minister for Health over the fact that in Ireland today babies that survive late-term abortions are being left to die without receiving medical care and babies undergoing late-term abortions are being given no pain relief.

Huge thanks to the TDs in question for not allowing this grotesque and horrifying reality to be swept under the carpet.

Featured in this short video are TDs Sean Canney, Carol Nolan, Mattie McGrath, Peadar Tóibín and Michael Collins. Why not take a minute to thank them today?
