While others begin the wind down to Christmas, at Fawcett things are still busy as we prepare for the launch of our latest report: Unlimited Potential - a report of the commission on gender stereotypes in early childhood. Last weekend the Guardian featured our research on the impact of toy marketing alongside 10 toys for tackling gender stereotypes which were nominated by our members. Unlimited Potential
Over the last 18 months, our commission on gender stereotypes has covered a huge range of topic and wealth of material in exploring the impact of gender stereotypes on infants and children. And in just under one week, we will proudly release the report which is the culmination of that work.
Can you join us on Tuesday, 15 December at 5.30pm for the report launch?
The launch will include a digest of the report along with a response from Gillian Keegan MP, Parliamentary Under Secretary of State for Apprenticeships and Skills at the Department for Education, and a panel discussion. Panellists include Professor Becky Francis, Chair of the Commission, Owen Thomas, Future Men, Jess Day, Campaigner with Let Toys be Toys. The panel will be chaired by Sam Smethers on her last day at the Fawcett Society. Sign up now to be there.

#MakeWomenVisible Conference
Two weeks ago we held our AGM and #MakeWomenVisible conference which included an important discussion on how we ensure a more equal future in the wake of coronavirus. With input from Polly Neate, CEO of Shelter, Jumoke Abdullahi and Kym Oliver who make up the Triple Cripples, Wendy Irwin from the Royal College of Nursing, Joeli Brearley, founder of Pregnant then Screwed, and Hannah Essex from British Chambers of Commerce, the discussion ensured we considered a diversity of opinions about the impact of the pandemic on women.
The discussion was a real highlight of the evening and you can now watch the recording on our website.
