See your impact on people experiencing homelessness and food insecurity.

You're making the difference in the lives of people experiencing food insecurity and homelessness. Your dedication to the community and our mission continues to impact those who need it most during a pandemic.

You can appreciate the difference you make through a story of a woman who found herself On Higher Ground with her toddler after entering our family emergency shelter earlier this year as a result.

On Higher Ground
Experiencing homelessness and battling substance use disorder, she chose to work with us to find a solution by enrolling herself in substance use treatment programs and fully utilizing the services we make available. She worked to complete several housing applications, and she also enrolled in higher education to pursue her education goals.

The pandemic comes with unique challenges, making the already challenging work of finding an apartment for families experiencing homelessness even more difficult. After months of feeling hopeless in finding an apartment, this participant and her child were able to secure supportive housing with us. Together they will have a safe place for their small family to call home, an extraordinary 180-degree turn from the road they were heading down.

Their story is one of many this year, from January – September 2020 we have:
- Provided 41,499 bed nights for individuals and families in our adult and family emergency shelters
- Ensured support and housing for over 400 individuals from more than 180 families in our various permanent and supportive housing units.
- Supported 131 unique Substance Use Treatment clients who received outpatient services, with 496 client assessments completed overall.

You're helping make this work possible through the winter months with our End of Year Campaign, as the work continues to operate these essential programs and services into the new year and beyond. You can see direct ways your support will help fund our mission and share this effort with other community members on our End of Year Campaign page.

Kind Regards,
The FIT-NH Family
