El Paso. Dayton. Odessa. Gilroy. Virginia Beach. While every one of these tragedies occurred, commonsense gun legislation – passed by the House in February – has sat on Mitch McConnell's desk, waiting to be called for a vote.

This is unacceptable, John. The majority of Americans – including gun owners – support universal background checks, and this legislation would close dangerous loopholes and require background checks on ALL gun purchases. There is no reason for the Senate to delay passing this lifesaving legislation – yet there hasn't even been a debate.

We're checking in with our top supporters like you to see where you stand on this once-in-a-generation opportunity – but we need 250 more responses from xxxxxx before midnight. Please, John, take a moment to tell us where you stand:

Should the Senate vote on universal background checks?
