Governor Laura Kelly today announced she's appointing her Lieutenant Governor Lynn Rogers to fill the Kansas Treasurer's Office vacancy. Yes, with no shame she is paying political favors to her very own.
This is a partisan attack on democracy.
Kansans chose a Republican to serve as their Treasurer in 2018 and the office hasn't been on the ballot since then. By appointing a partisan Democrat, Governor Kelly has subverted the will of an overwhelming majority of Kansas voters.
If Laura Kelly decides to run for re-election in 2022, we must defeat her. We NEED your help to elect a GOP governor in Kansas.
We had enormous success in 2020 electing U.S. Senator Roger Marshall, sending Tracey Mann and Jake LaTurner to fight on our behalf alongside Rep. Ron Estes in Congress, and solidifying our GOP supermajorities in the Kansas Legislature.
We need to keep up that momentum by electing a Republican to the governor's mansion in 2022.
