The Center for Democracy & Technology (CDT) is celebrating 25 years of putting democracy and individual rights at the center of the digital revolution. From proposing new ways to protect consumer data and support students during the pandemic, to safeguarding democratic principles like lawful free speech online and secure elections, we put you at the center of our work — and we couldn't do it without you.
CDT is raising funds this holiday season to support the work ahead in the new year. In honor of our 25th Anniversary, we've set a goal to raise $25,000 by the end of 2020, and we are nearly 40% of the way there! If you've not already done so, can you help us close the gap? Donate now to help us reach our goal.
This challenging year has shown the importance of the work we do here at CDT. As people around the world turn to technology to work remotely and go to school; as mis- and disinformation distort public discourse; as nationwide protests against racial injustice have raised new awareness about the surveillance of marginalized communities, our issues have mattered as never before. We've pivoted quickly to respond to new challenges, while remaining steadfast in our commitment to protect consumer privacy and address data-driven discrimination, defend election integrity, advocate for speech protections online, and limit the use of government surveillance. In this rapidly changing landscape, there's a lot of work to do and more to come in the year ahead.
If you are able, please make a donation to CDT this holiday season. You have stood with us in our first 25 years, and we hope you will join us for what comes next! Together, we will meet the challenges of the years ahead with your rights and liberties central to our work and advocacy.
With sincere thanks,
