Dear John,

Congress may vote on new COVID-19 emergency response legislation within days. The current bipartisan proposal features $15 billion for public transportation. We need to strongly urge support for this bipartisan legislation while explaining the need for additional funding for our public transit systems. Public transit needs a total of $32 billion of additional emergency funding. This may be our last chance to support public transit until 2021 and we need your support.

Support Emergency Funding for Public Transit

Public transit systems need an immediate infusion of additional relief funding to continue safe operations and provide an essential service in our nation’s ongoing response to the COVID-19 pandemic. Without new emergency funding, a majority of public transit systems will have to cut service or furlough employees.

Please take just a few minutes today to make sure your members of Congress know public transit is:
  • Playing an essential role in helping our nation fight COVID-19
  • Enabling healthcare workers and other essential workers to reach the frontlines of the battle to help our communities
  • Supporting local businesses and workers to help bring our struggling economy back

Please email your lawmakers now to urge them to support this bipartisan legislation and increase the amount of aid to $32 billion to public transportation a priority in emergency response legislation. Now is the time to make our voices heard!
