Vice President-elect Kamala Harris had some powerful words when she declared victory with Joe Biden on November 7: “Black women...are often -- too often -- overlooked, but so often prove that they are the backbone of our democracy.”
Kamala’s ascent to the second-highest office is revolutionary. But right now, whether her history-making election will have a formidable effect on our country’s policy could be at risk; as many experts note, because of Democrats’ disappointing performance in the other federal elections, the Biden-Harris administration will be entering negotiations with a much less friendly Congress than previously anticipated.
