Friend,
1 in 8 Americans reported that in the past week, they often did not have enough food to eat.
As I recently explained on CBS Evening News, we’re facing the worst hunger crisis in modern American times. Unless the federal government does something big quickly, we’re going to see starvation conditions unlike any we’ve seen since the Great Depression. Our Annual Hunger Report found that there has been a 15% increase in the number of people served by food pantries and soup kitchens in 2020, at a time when these organizations are seeing a 71% reduction in staffing and volunteer capacity. People need real relief now -- and only relying on food pantries and soup kitchens to get it is unsustainable.
That’s why we need your help. Through a combination of our direct services, like the USDA National Hunger Hotline, high-impact volunteer projects, and national advocacy efforts to push for a federal stimulus package, we’re in a unique position to move the needle and make sure that hunger relief happens NOW.
Can you contribute $10, $20, or $30 today as we work to counter the effects of the worsening pandemic and provide relief to the 54 million people struggling today?
GIVE Now
COVID did not create the problem of food insecurity -- but it sorely exacerbated it. Can you lend a helping hand today?
Thanks,
Joel
