Over the past several weeks, COVID-19 cases have surged across the country to the highest level we've seen in months. Amidst the growing number of cases and hospitalizations, much of the relief provided in the CARES Act has already been exhausted or is set to expire in the coming weeks.
In May, Kim and her colleagues in the House passed a new relief package to ensure Americans had the resources needed to remain healthy and stay afloat during these difficult times. But more than six months later, Mitch McConnell has continued to block relief bills. People, businesses, and health care workers in our district and across the country are demanding action.
We can't afford to wait until Joe Biden and Kamala Harris are in the White House to act on COVID-19 relief. Mitch McConnell and Senate Republicans need to pass new relief legislation right away.
